Different pallet characteristics and applications

Pallets are horizontal platform devices used for packing, stacking, handling, and transportation of goods and products placed as unit loads. As a kind of containerization equipment similar to containers, pallets are now widely used in production, transportation, warehousing, and circulation, and are considered to be one of the two key innovations in the logistics industry in the 20th century.

For the pallet, bearing is its most important consideration. Generally, we divide pallet loads into three types:

Static load: 

Refers to the pallet being placed on a horizontal and rigid plane, the goods are evenly spread on the pallet, and the maximum load weight that the pallet can bear

Dynamic load: 

Refers to the maximum load weight that can be borne by the pallet when the pallet is in dynamic operation and the goods on the pallet are evenly placed.

Rack load: 

Refers to the maximum load weight that can be borne by the pallet when the pallet is placed evenly on the beam shelf or other similar material rack.

1. Wooden Pallet.

The wooden Pallet made from natural wood. Because of its low cost, it is currently the most widely used pallet.

2. Plastic pallet

The plastic pallets are made from industrial plastics. It is more expensive than wooden pallets and has a slightly lower load, but it is environmentally friendly and has fewer import restrictions.

3. Steel Pallet

The steel pallets are processed with steel, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, and other materials as raw materials. Can be customized any size, is strong, and is not easy to deform. However, the unit price is higher than the previous two, and it is easy to be corroded. 

4. Paper Pallet

The paper pallets made from pulp and paperboard. It realizes the requirement of fast commodity inspection and customs clearance to achieve fast logistics, but it can not be used outdoors for a long time to avoid rain contact.
